Kylie Minogue adds pink Prosecco to her wine range

Pop princess Kylie Minogue has added a rosé Prosecco to her eponymous wine range, which has sold over a million bottles since it first hit the shelves last May.

Made in collaboration with family-owned Prosecco specialist Zonin from a blend of 85% Glera and 15% Pinot Noir, the vegan-friendly pale pink fizz is said to boast notes of “fresh strawberries, raspberries and blossom”.

On the palate the £12 sparkler is “brightly textured and crisp with a refreshing citrus finish”.

The grapes used to make the wine are grown on limestone-rich soils in the Gambellara hills and have an average vine age of 10 years.

The salmon pink fizz comes housed in a clear glass bottle with a debossed heart design, silver foil, and pink and white label featuring Kylie’s signature.

The singer launched her eponymous wine range in the UK with a southern French rosé on 28 May last year to coincide with her birthday, and in less than a year has expanded the brand to include an organic Cava, Margaret River Chardonnay, Côtes de Provence rosé, Languedoc Merlot and Gascony Sauvignon Blanc.

According to brand owner Benchmark Drinks, Minogue recently hit her million bottle milestone, making her collection one of the fastest-growing and most successful wine brands to have launched in Britain.

“I’m unbelievably humbled and thrilled by the global response to Kylie Minogue Wines. To sell over a million bottles in less than a year has been incredible, and testimony to the amazing producers and winemakers the brand has been lucky enough to work alongside,” Minogue said.

“I have been incredibly touched by the joy our wines have brought to so many people in the last year, and am excited to release our new 2020 rosé vintages including a very special Prosecco rosé,” she added.

The singer’s £18 Côtes de Provence Rosé is made by Château Sainte Roseline. The 2020 vintage offers aromas of “pink grapefruit, watermelon and lemon blossom”, alongside a “crisp, textured palate” and a “silky mineral finish”.

Her £9 2020 Signature Rosé meanwhile, boasts notes of “fresh summer berries and white blossom” and is “refreshing on the palate with bright acidity and a crisp finish”.

Minogue’s full rosé range will be available at Harvey Nichols, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Tesco and Ocado.
