Berkmann offering 50,000 bottles of wine to indie on-trade venues
Drinks distributor Berkmann Wine Cellars will be donating 50,000 bottles of wine to independent hospitality venues in the UK to help them get back on their feet post pandemic.
Berkmann’s ‘Welcome back, first case on us’ initiative is part of its continued drive to support the hospitality industry through one of the toughest times in its history.
Following the success of its Help4Hospitality initiative, the 50,000 free bottles of wine will go towards helping participating indie venues re-start their businesses now that outdoor drinking and dining is legal again in England.
Running from 12 April until 17 May, the free first case back offer is open to Berkmann’s independent on-trade customers through a registration process.
If everything goes to plan, indoor hospitality venues will be allowed to reopen on 17 May.
“The past year has been incredibly challenging. Our beloved hospitality industry has been a well-known recipient of these challenges, having faced an unprecedented amount of insecurity through total lockdowns, enforced closures and gradual re-openings,” said Rupert Berkmann, CEO of Berkmann Wine Cellars.
“We are, along with our agencies, thrilled to be in a position to keep supporting our partners in the trade at this crucial time through our ‘Welcome back, first case on us’ initiative. We hope it will help make a difference in their re-opening process as well as boost their spring wine sales,” he added.
