Aldi launches limited edition gold leaf gin amid wine and spirit additions
UK discounter Aldi has added a limited edition gold leaf gin, after revamping its summer spirits offering and adding a host of new wines.
The new Glitter Globe Gin Liqueur is part of its Infusionist range, and contains 23-carat gold leaf in a peach and elderflower flavoured gin – which the retailer says it rivals M&S’s Glitter Globe Gin Liqueur which launched last December. The Aldi offering will be available as a limited edition ‘special buy’ from 25 April, retailing at £12.99.
The retailer has also recently revamped its spirits range for spring and summer 2021, with the addition of 14 spirits last month, including five flavoured gins (Blackberry & bramble, mango & passionfruit, pink grapefruit & orange, Sicilian lemon and Mediterranean orange), a London dry gin, three flavoured gin liqueurs (apricot lychee, lemon drizzle cake and strawberry & vanilla), and three flavoured rums (tropical pineapple, raspberry mojito and black spiced rum).
Two seasonal flavoured vodkas – Iskall Vodka Raspberry and Iskall Vodka Vanilla – also returned to the range, along with its reformulated Aperini Apertif.

It has also added a range of new wines from across the world, including a rare Uruguayan Tannat (£6.99) and an off-dry Canadian Riesling (£9.99 online only) from the Okanagan Valley, which are available in store and online from £4.29.
Wines in the Globetrotter range include an Argentinian Criolla (£5.99) which should be served chilled, three Italian wines – a Specially Selected Toscana Rosé (£6.99), Italian Frappato (£6.49) and Italian Frascati, (£4.29), a white Rioja, and Mimo Moutinho Vinho Verde (£4.99) from Portugal, and a Beaujolais.
In March, the retailer launched 17 new rose wines, including a Vinho Verde Rosé (£6.49), a pink Rioja, a Canadian and a Californian Rosé, as well as a Specially Selected Ventoux Rosé (£6.99), and Specially Selected Pays D’herault Rosé (£6.99).
