Vinexposium Connect to mark International Women’s Day with talks

Vinexposium Connect, the new digital platform by Vinexposium, will be marking International Women’s Day on 8 March with two events that shine a light on women in the drinks industry.

South African winemaker Andrea Mullineux will be taking part in the Wine, Women, Covid and Bright Ideas talk on 8 March

Titled ‘Wine, Women, Covid and Bright Ideas’, the first event turns the spotlight on three women from different geographical and professional backgrounds, and how they are coping with the past and future consequences of the pandemic.

Anne Burchett will moderate the 40-minute discussion and will welcome South African winemaker Andrea Mullineux, English drinks presenter Helena Nicklin and American-based buyer Clare Tooley.

Due to take place at 4pm GMT on Monday 8 March, the discussion will explore how Covid-19 has changed their professional lives and their vision of the wine world in terms of prospects and opportunities when we exit the crisis.

The second event will be the first in a new series called Women Talks, where inspirational women from across the drinks industry share their stories.

Among the women due to feature in the 15-minute interview slot are French winemaker Irène Tolleret: Argentine sommelier Paz Levinson; and New York-based French sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier. The series will be regularly updated with new episodes.

Both the talk and the interviews can be viewed via Vinexposium Connect. Vinexposium Connect was created in autumn 2020 to coincide with Vinexpo Shanghai 2020, which was held in a digital format.

Since then, it has continued to develop tools and content to provide support for drinks industry members across the world.

  1. Maureen B Ebersole says:

This is great!! I love the variety of information, from organic wines in Bordeaux to gondolas for dining in Colorado. I plan to tune into the VinExposium Connect Women’s Day program on March 8—it looks to be really interesting. Your platform is so well done as an answer to the restrictions of the pandemic. Keep it up until we’re back to sipping wine together in person. That day will come!
