HK’s Café Gray to close

Café Gray Deluxe, chef Gray Kunz’s well-known establishment in Hong Kong, has announced its closure with the last day of service to be 31 December 2020.

Located on level 49 of The Upper House hotel in Admiralty, Café Gray Deluxe was opened in 2009 and it has been one of the destination restaurants in town.

Despite passing away this March, the venue has remained extremely popular.

As a farewell, the restaurant will present a unique menu featuring signature dishes that best represent his emblematic work such as tarragon scented lobster bisque, braised short rib of beef and chilled soup of chrysanthemum and pear.

The menu will be available until the end of December 2020.

“We thank our friends and guests who have helped shape Café Gray Deluxe’s imprint on the community since the beginning. We are all extremely proud of the reputation and success we have gained since 2009 and are excited about the next chapter for The Upper House,” said Yvonne Cheung, director of restaurants for The Upper House.

A new dining concept at the same venue will be revealed in spring 2021. Meanwhile, Café Gray Deluxe at The Middle House in Shanghai will continue to operate as usual.
