Sexy Fish launches Surrealism-inspired cocktail menu
Richard Caring’s irreverent Mayfair restaurant Sexy Fish has launched a new cocktail menu and book inspired by Surrealism to mark the venue’s fifth birthday.
Called Surrealism, the cocktail book is the brainchild of Xavier Landais, director of bars for Caprice Holdings, and Jérôme Allaguillemette, bar manager of Sexy Fish.
Launched today, the tome chronicles the restaurant’s most popular cocktails from the past five years and features Sexy Fish originals alongside highlights from some of the venue’s numerous cocktail collaborations.
Among the cocktails in the book (and on Sexy Fish’s new drinks list) are the Kyuri, a cucumber Martini created for the venue’s launch party, which saw Rita Ora dress up as a mermaid.
Also on the list is the Curry Me Home, a twist on a whiskey sour inspired by Marco Polo’s travels through Asia; and the Son of Gibraltar, a three-in-one cocktail inspired by John Galliano’s Spring 2008 collection for Dior.
The quirky Yanyu meanwhile, takes Taipei’s street food scene as its inspiration, while the Pin Up Colada blends two firm favourites, the Piña Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri.
“This menu is a reflection of our team’s hard work and creativity from the last five years, as well as a reminder of all the amazing collaborations we have worked on together,” Landais said.
“I’m so proud of all we have achieved and am looking forward to sharing our favourite cocktails with both our loyal and future guests,” he added.
Why aren’t there any images of the book?? I heard it looks amazing.
