Label 5 launches first single grain whisky
Scotch whisky distiller Label 5 has launched its first single grain expression, which has been finished in ex-Bourbon barrels.
Label 5, which is owned by French drinks group La Martiniquaise, said its Label 5 Bourbon Barrel whisky had been finished in ex-Bourbon barrels, giving the spirit flavours of vanilla, oak and a subtle fruitiness.
Produced at the brand’s Starlaw distillery in Bathgate, west of Edinburgh, which is also home to maturation and bottling facilities. As such, the brand retains control of its production.
Label 5 recommends serving the new whisky over ice, or in cocktails such as the Old Fashioned or whisky and cola.
The 40% ABV whisky, which retails at £17 per 70cl, is also available globally in 75cl and 10cl bottles.
Julia Pinocely, international brand manager for Label 5, said: “The launch of Label 5 Bourbon Barrel marks a very exciting time for the brand. Unveiling a single grain Scotch whisky as part of the Label 5 collection further cements our expertise in the market and will be of great appeal to our consumers and partners across the world.”
