Catena Zapata releases 2017 wines through La Place
Argentine winery Catena Zapata has released its latest vintages of Nicolás Catena Zapata and Adrianna Mundus Bacillus Terrae through La Place de Bordeaux.
This is the third release through La Place for Catena Zapata and involves the 2017 vintage of both wines, a vintage that was marked by low yields in Argentina and also the 20th vintage of the flagship Nicolás Catena Zapata label.
The 2017 vintage saw frost damage in the Uco Valley, which reduced the Malbec crop by as much as 55%, which was bad news for growers hoping for a bumper yield after the tiny 2016 vintage.
On the other hand, what was harvested showed “perfect balance” and the wines have received strong critical praise from leading critics and publications.
Catena Zapata is one of an ever-growing number of top international estates who have signed up to La Place de Bordeaux to help increase their global distribution.
Among South American wineries alone, Catena Zapata’s top wines are now offered each autumn alongside; Viñedo Chadwick, Almaviva, Seña, Clos Apalta, Cheval des Andes and others, as well as top estates from Italy, the US, South Africa, Australia, the Rhône and even re-releases from Bordeaux estates.
