Wines of Germany launches new £65k UK retailer fund
Wines of Germany has launched a new Retailer Partnership Fund worth £65,000 to help small and medium-sized retailers promote German wines in the UK.
The fund has been introduced to give wine merchants the opportunity to apply for grants to increase their German wine listings, in what is a testing time for the wine industry.
Applications for grants up to £10,000 can be made through the Wines of Germany website can be made from now until 28 September.
Businesses will need to provide details of how they intend to use the grant both to increase and promote their German wines.
Successful applicants will be notified in October of this year and will have until the end of April 2021 to complete their proposed activities.
Nicky Forrest, director of Wines of Germany UK said: “We are excited to launch this new and timely fund and, in doing so, reach a whole new audience of consumers throughout the UK. It’s important to us to support retailers who continue to list and promote German wine.”
Applicants wishing to obtain a grant do not need to currently stock any German wines but will be required to increase their German listings to eight wines from at least three producers for the October to April period, two of which must be grapes other than Riesling.
