Called Casa dos Ecos, the four-month pop-up will showcases the best of seasonal produce from the Douro Valley with its ever-evolving menu.

The pop-up restaurant boasts views of the Douro River

With a focus on wood-fired cooking, Lemos’ seasonal dishes will be paired with wines from the Symington Family Estates portfolio, including dry whites and reds from the Douro, and a diverse range of Ports.

Located on a ridge among the vineyards, the informal restaurant boasts serene views of the Douro River.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with the talented Pedro Lemos on such an exciting project that showcases the best of the Douro,” Johnny Symington, chairman of Symington Family Estates, said.

“We feel the timing is right for the pop-up, as people begin travelling again and look for more rural retreats, rather than the busier cities and beaches.

“The location is perfect for the necessary Covid-19 safety measures, as most of the guests will be able to eat outside on the terrace,” he added.

Pedro Lemos said of the collaboration: “It is with great pleasure that I am returning to the Douro to share my vision of the cuisine from the region.

“Ever since I first visited Casa dos Ecos at Quinta do Bomfim, I have always felt that it had the potential to be a very special space where people could enjoy the best that the Douro has to offer: landscape, wine and food.

“I am very pleased the Symington family accepted this challenge and helped make this pop-up at Casa dos Ecos a reality.”

Casa dos Ecos is open until mid-November 2020 from Tuesday to Sunday. Quinta do Bomfim has been the home of Dow’s Vintage Ports since 1896 and has been farmed by five generations of the Symington family.
