UK importer and distributor Ellis Wines has launched a campaign to support South Africa and the hospitality sector.

For every six bottles of wine purchased from any of the five South African wineries in its portfolio, Ellis will donate £1 to Hospitality Action.
To promote its campaign, the company will be sending an email to all its customers, encouraging them to drink South African.
The offer will run for six weeks from 3 August to 11 September, and Ellis will run blog posts about the winemakers each week.
The wineries are: Backsberg Estate, De Wetshof Estate, The Basson Family Estate, Strandveld Vineyards and Laibach Vineyards.
The company states: “Your wine purchase could help save a family-owned South African winery and all the livelihoods it supports.
“The pandemic has also hit the hospitality industry hard, which is why we have chosen to donate the money raised to Hospitality Action.”
South Africa reinstated its controversial domestic alcohol sales ban earlier this month after lifting it in June. Producers are permitted to send their products overseas after an export ban was removed on 1 May.
