Silent Pool distillery launches CBD Gin

Silent Pool distillery in the Surrey Hills has partnered with Guildford-based CBD brand Green Stem on a high ratio CBD gin called Colorado High, which contains 200mg of CBD oil.

Aiming to be “the highest quality CBD gin on the market”, Colorado High Gin is a distillation of Silent Pool gin blended with Green Stem’s ‘premium’ CBD, sourced from hemp grown in the Rockies in Colorado.

Each 50cl bottle is infused with 200mg of cannabidiol, which, Silent Pool claims, is “much higher than any other CBD gin on the market”.

According to the distillery, most of the CBD gins currently on sale contain only 10mg of CBD per bottle, which isn’t a high enough level to producer an effect.

The non-psychoactive component of cannabis, CBD is hailed for its numerous health benefits, from relaxation to helping with muscle and joint pain. The oil has a subtle bitterness akin to grapefruit.

“We chose to partner with Green Stem because we wanted to add a high-quality, gimmick-free product to the CBD drinks market, and we’re proud to say we’ve achieved that,” said Silent Pool’s co-founder, Ian McCulloch.

Simon Horth, co-founder of Green Stem, added: “The cloudiness of any CBD product is the best way to recognise the potency of the dosage. Many brands that claim to have CBD in their products only use minuscule amounts, rendering its effect void.

“Consumers should always check the dosage on the bottle and the cloudiness of the liquid to know they are getting a high-quality product.”

Silent Pool Colorado High CBD Gin is priced at £50.00 for a 50cl bottle. Silent Pool Gin was launched in 2014 on the Albury Estate in the Surrey Hills, by Ian McCulloch and James Shelbourne.

Green Stem was founded by brothers Brett and Simon Horth in 2018. Its range includes CBD oils, cosmetics, vape liquids and drinks.
