Launched by Anthony Swift, Italian Wine Week will take place from 26-28 May. “As we organise B2B workshops in Spain, Italy and the UK, it made sense in these challenging times to look at how to keep wine producers and buyers connected and doing business while simultaneously providing educational content to help wine importers with their businesses.
“Having just launched Spanish Wine Week, organising an Italian Wine week was an obvious next step,” Swift told db.
According to Swift, the three day event will offer “cutting edge professional education opportunities for wine buying professionals at all levels”.
Attendees can take advantage of expert-led sessions, enhance their knowledge of Italian wine and grow their business. Replays of the sessions are available to all attendees if they miss one.
Among the events taking place during the week will be live interviews with boutique wine producers highlighting some of the lesser-known terroirs and wines across Italy.
Each producer will have a profile page where buyers can request a private online meeting to help create new business opportunities. Swift is expecting betweeen 500 and 1,000 buyers to sign up for the event.
“Spanish wine week went very well – we had Master of Wine Fernado Mora as one of the keynote speakers and a good range of boutique wine producers from around Spain in attendence,” Swift told db.
“The event was attended by wine importers and distributors around the world, including Japan, the US, Scandinavia and Australia.
“A second edition of Spanish Wine Week is scheduled for 9 -11 June, with Sarah Jane Evans MW confirmed as keynote speaker,” Swift added.
