Vinexpo Hong Kong announces new dates
Vinexpo has announced that the dates of its Hong Kong wine and spirits show have been moved from late May to early July “in light of the coronavirus situation”.
Due to take place on 26-28 May 2020, Vinexpo Hong Kong has been postponed until 8-10 July 2020. “The response of the industry was clear that Vinexpo Hong Kong should be rescheduled but remain in the first half of 2020.
“This was to mitigate the health and safety risks, but also to continue to allow for a meeting point as soon as possible, so exhibitors and attendees would have the opportunity to reinvigorate activity in the region.
Vinexpo’s CEO, Rodolphe Lameyse, is keen to make the rescheduled Vinexpo Hong Kong a “must-attend event”
“We are pleased to serve such a close-knit community that was able to tell us exactly what they need as an industry,” a statement from Vinexpo said.
“The organisers are responding to direct exhibitor feedback requesting the change and are seeking to provide the best conditions for all to support the industry’s business development in Asia-Pacific,” the statement added.
The event will be held at the same venue as previously planned – the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Vinexpo’s CEO, Rodolphe Lameyse, said he was doing everything in his power “to make the rescheduled Vinexpo Hong Kong 2020 a must-attend event in Asia-Pacific”.
A number of key wine companies have already confirmed their participation over the new dates, and a large number of countries and regions will be represented, including Chile, Argentina, South Africa, French, Uruguay, Lebanon and Syria.
“These new dates in July are very good news. We all need an economic rebound and Vinexpo Hong Kong is without doubt the most reliable lever,” said Guillermo Beltramín, export manager Asia at Chile’s Emiliana Organic Vineyards.
For the first time this year, Vinexpo Hong Kong will also host the Be Spirits area dedicated to spirits and mixology, which launched last month at Vinexpo Paris.
Vinexpo Hong Kong will offer a programme of conferences and tastings, as well as an area dedicated to certified organic and biodynamic wines.
Great.
Looking forward
Thanks for information.
Will attend on the new dates.
