With families forced into close quarters, the hospitality industry shut down and leisure facilities closed, cabin fever is well and truly setting in for many around the world.

Schools have been closed, home schooling is the norm, and the prospect of a fresh pint on draught seems a distant memory.
Light relief came with the addition of off-licences to the list of ‘essential shops’ that can remain open during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The cork challenge
The folks at Ellis Wines are leading the cork challenge charge, but can you compete?
Place a cork on your elbow, with your hand by your shoulder. Extend your arm and try to catch the cork. Sound simple? You’d be surprised.
Share your successful attempts, and outtakes, on social media, using the hashtag #corkchallenge. Tag the drinks business social channels and we’ll feature the best cork action.
Bonus points if you can match the double elbow triumph below…

Wine bottle re-purposing
Why not give bottles destined for the recycling a chance to shine in a new guise?
Glass bottles can be put to many uses, from bird feeders and irrigators, to boot stands and garden edging. See our list here.
Depending on the extent of your cabin fever, you can even build your own house, Christmas tree or snowman with your wine-related detritus.
Perhaps most pertinent in the current times, glass bottles can be turned into liquid hand soap dispensers. Simply order an appropriate pouring nozzle online, and away you go.
