Wine trade shows to watch in China 2020

Owing to the impact of Covid-19, a number of trade events taking place this spring have been postponed. Others, however, are still on. Here are the main events that you should keep marked in your diary.

Interwine China 2020
21-23 May, China Import & Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou

The Spring session of Interwine China continues to be one of the most important shows in Southern China. With 15 years of experience, the show claims to have the biggest Chinese wine importers network in Mainland China. Last year, the three-day show, with an exhibition area of 50,000 square metres, attracted the participation of more than 1,175 exhibitors and over 50,000 professional visitors and group buyers.

World Bulk Wine Exhibition Asia (WBWE Asia)
29-30 May, Yantai International Expo Center, Yantai

Debuted in 2019, The WBWE Asian edition is returning to Yantai this May. Yantai is the important hub for the international bulk wine trade in China.

TopWine China 2020
3-5 June, China National Convention Center, Beijing

TopWine China is one of the biggest international trade fairs for wine and spirits in northern China, providing a platform for global brands to understand the Chinese market. Last year, the show was reported to have attracted 10,885 visitors.

VinChina 2020
3-5 July, Yantai International Expo Center, Yantai

Also known as the Yantai International Wine Expo, the show claimed to be one of the largest wine fairs in China with an exhibition area spanning 30,000 square meters. Last year the show attracted 500 wine companies from 58 wine-producing areas in 22 countries, including 10 wine-producing regions in China.

8-10 July, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre

One of the leading trade shows in Asia, organisers have just announced a new date due to the concern of Covid-19.

TOEwine 2020
18-20 September, Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Shenzhen

Arriving at its third edition this year, TOEwine, an abbreviation of ‘Taste of Excellence’, aims to promote innovative wine styles to consumers in China. Last year, the show received 14,456 visitors, covering the premium catering industry and high-end consumers from corporations and premium clubs.

Vinexpo Shanghai 2020
21-23 October, Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai

Following the success of its first edition in 2019, Vinexpo Shanghai returns this year as a flagship event in China’s wine and spirits calendar. Last year the event showcased the 260 exhibitors from 40 different regions, alongside high-level tastings and conferences.

Wine to Asia 2020
9-11 November, Shenzhen Trade Fair Complex, Shenzhen

Hosted by Vinitaly in partnership with Pacco Communication, the co-organiser of The China Food & Drinks Fair (CFDF), Wine to Asia is a new show aimed at professional Asian buyers. Based on Vinitaly’s widely recognised exposure in China, the show hopes to build an all-Italian style model of promotion in Asia. The event is expecting the attendance of 400 exhibitors in the start-up stage.

ProWine China
10-12 November, Shanghai New International Expo Center, Shanghai

The established brand is staging its seventh edition in Shanghai again this autumn. Last year, the three-day event welcomed 820 established wine producers and distributors from 37 countries with a 10% increase in exhibition space. The event recorded an attendance of 20,640, reflecting an increase in the number of trade visitors by 9%.
