Santa Margherita shakes up travel retail team
Wine giant Santa Margherita has appointed Elena Bermani as its new travel retail manager.
Bermani has been hired to aid the growth of Santa Margherita’s brands, which include Santa Margherita, Torresella, Kettmeir, Ca’ del Bosco, Cà Maiol, Lamole di Lamole, Vistarenni, Tenuta Sassoregale, Terrelíade and Cantina Mesa, in what the group believes is “one of wine business’s fastest-growing segments”.
Duty Free stores in airports generated more than US$100 billion in revenue this year, according to figures from the Tax Free World Association (TFWA).
Ettore Nicoletto, CEO of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, said that for large wine businesses, “it is increasingly essential to give this significant market segment the focus it deserves.”
Bermani will report to the group’s travel retail director, Giacomo Marzotto.
The group is made up of 10 estate’s throughout Italy, with producers in Veneto, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, Trentino-Alto Adige, Lugana, Franciacorta, Chianti Classico, the Maremma, Sicily and Sardinia.
