Fortnum & Mason opens its first overseas flagship store in Hong Kong
From Piccadilly to Hong Kong, the 312-year-old British retailer has landed in Asia.
Fortnum and Mason has opened its first fully-owned and operated shop and restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
Best known for its award-winning afternoon tea, food and lifestyle brand Fortnum & Mason has taken up residence in K11 Musea, the latest retail destination in Hong Kong, located along the Victoria Dockside.
The 7000 sq. ft. space includes a shop on the ground floor, featuring an edit of Fortnum’s most famous products, and a new Musea Blend created exclusively to celebrate the launch in Hong Kong.
Fortnum’s has also introduced a freshly baked-in-store biscuit offer, to complement its selection of biscuits in tins, preserves, marmalades and honeys.
The retail outlet will also include a fresh food hall selling salmon, cheese and caviar, presented alongside a curation of wines, spirits and Champagnes, including Fortnum & Mason’s Blanc de Blancs.
The shop has also introduced product personalisation, allowing customers to create their own bespoke tea blend and caddy label. They can also add personal messages to Champagne labels from Billecart-Salmon to Hostomme houses.
Up the marble staircase, visitors will find themselves in Fortnum’s 181, a dining room and bar serving up lunch, dinner and afternoon tea with views across the harbour.
The seasonally changing menu offers Fortnum’s signature dishes with expensive ingredients like caviar and smoked salmon, alongside more quintessentially British dishes of Beef Wellington, Welsh rarebit, Scotch Eggs and the iconic Knickerbocker Glory.
Fortnum’s famous Afternoon Tea will also be on offer each day, accompanied by a live pianist and spectacular skyline vistas. The menu replicates that of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon in Fortnum’s Piccadilly base.
“For centuries, Fortnum’s has thrived on delivering a sense of pleasure for our customers and we are delighted to share that with a new audience in Hong Kong,” Ewan Venters, CEO of Fortnum & Mason, said.
“Alongside shopping some of Fortnum’s most iconic products from tea and biscuits to Champagne, smoked salmon and hampers, guests can experience our award-winning hospitality at the new Fortnum’s 181 restaurant with the most spectacular views over Hong Kong harbour.”
