WSET announces three-year partnership with The Wine Show

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is to become the official wine education partner for Amazon Prime’s popular TV show, The Wine Show, as part of a new three-year deal.

As part of the deal, The Wine Show, which launched in the UK in 2016 and is now available in more than 106 counties, will host a new WSET Education Hub on its website, as well as producing a series of videos with the WSET.

Informal taster wine courses for consumers will also be run by the WSET, which is the largest global provider of wine and spirits qualifications for professionals and amateur enthusiasts, in a bid to help make the world of wine more accessible to consumers.

WSET chief executive, Ian Harris said The Wine Show was a natural fit for WSET and would encouraging consumers all over the world to further their knowledge of wine.

“We share the same mission to increase knowledge about the wonderful world of wine, inspiring and empowering enthusiasts as well as professionals globally,” he said.

The Wine Show’s producer and CEO, Melanie Jappy, said thre wasnothing more gratifying as a programme maker than to hear that people who’ve watched your show have been inspired to learn more about the subject.

“Since we’ve been making The Wine Show so many people have told us they’ve done this by signing up for a course with WSET. I could not be happier that we are now officially in partnership with this wonderful global organisation who have done so much to bring the subject to life for amateurs and professionals alike.”

Wine expert and present Joe Fattorini said it was fantastic be able to work together in partnership with the WSET, after directing so many views to the WSET to learn more about wine after watching the show.

The third series of The WIne Show will air in early 2020, with actor and director Dominic West joining the line up alongside Matthew Goode, Matthew Rhys, James Purefoy, wine experts Amelia Singer and Joe Fattorini, and beer expert, Jaega Wise.

The last series was broadcast in the UK in a peak time slot on Channel 5 and saw acclaimed wine writer Jancis Robinson join the team.
