ProWein to host media summit on climate change
ProWein will present its business report addressing the theme of climate change and its impact on the wine industry at a media summit later this month.
The report includes input from over 1,700 experts from 45 countries in all parts of the wine industry “value chain” and has been compiled by the Geisenheim University.
This is the third time such a report has been compiled. The summit is being live streamed on 21 November at 11am CET.
Climate change has been a major focus of the wine industry in recent years. In July of 2018, the Fladgate Partnership served as a lead sponsor of The Porto Summit 2018, a conference on climate change, at which the 44th President of the US, Barack Obama, attended as a keynote speaker.
This year the event returned to the city of Porto. During the summit attendees will have the chance to sign the ‘Porto Protocol’ – a written commitment that the wine industry will work harder and more collaboratively towards tackling climate change.
This year, Vinexpo also held an inaugural climate change symposium.
