Xavier Rousset and Mark Jarvis reopen Gunmakers pub
Master Sommelier Xavier Rousset and Angelo chef Mark Jarvis have joined forces to reopen much loved Marylebone pub the Gunmakers this month.
Chef Mark Jarvis will oversee the food at the Gunmakers’ new restaurant
Having been closed for the last two years, the pair, who met while working at Texture in Marylebone, reopened the pub this week, with a 40-cover basement restaurant overseen by Jarvis due to open next month.
Jarvis, who was formerly at the helm of modern British small plates restaurants Neo Bistro and Stem in Mayfair, will offer a ‘Best of British’ menu at the pub.
In addition to the restaurant, where Rousset will look after the wines, the new look Gunmakers also features six guestrooms upstairs.
Originally licensed in 1791 and rebuilt 90 years later, the Gunmakers was formerly the Bricklayers Arms and, more recently, the Scottish-themed William Wallace.
In addition to the Gunmakers, Roussetruns Cabotte in the City, Trade in Soho and Blandford Comptoir in Marylebone.
