Rioja’s 10×10 tasting returns to London
Wines from Rioja is celebrating the diversity of the Rioja category with a showcase of 100 of the region’s top wines in October.
Taking place in London on 17 October, industry insiders will get a chance to sample the region’s flagship wine, including some event exclusives not currently available in the UK.
Members of the trade will be able to sample 100 wines from 70 producers in Rioja, as well as attend a masterclass showcasing wines produced throughout the region, broken down into 10 categories.
The 10 categories are: Unoaked whites, Oaked whites, Rosé, Crianza, Reserva from £10-£14.99, Reservas over £15, Gran Reserva, Generic wines over £15, Non-Tempranillio reds, and Red made from non-Tempranillo varieties, and the “Chairs’ Choices”.
The 100 wines were selected from hundreds of entrants which were tasted blind by a panel of twelve experts including wine buyers, writers and specialists, co-chaired by Tim Atkin MW and Sarah Jane Evans MW.
Rioja’s 10 x 10 line up will be available for the wine trade to taste on Thursday 17 October in London. More details will be revealed on registration.
