Perrier-Jouët launches Belle Epoque Rosé 2012 in HK
Perrier-Jouët has released the 2012 vintage of its prestige cuvée Belle Epoque Rosé in Hong Kong.
Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé typically blends the richness of Pinot Noir from Ay, Mailly, Verzy and Rilly with the floral elegance of Chardonnay from the Cramant, Avize and Le Mesnil.
Regarding the 2012 vintage, after a mild winter, spring frost and hail followed, causing damage to the vineyards.
By mid-July, summer had arrived in earnest, with dry heat and ample sunshine to bring the grapes to maturity across all crus. Rain returned at the end of September, just as harvest began.
Although marked by difficult weather conditions, Perrier-Jouët said in its harvest report that the results were “balanced wines”.
The vintage Rosé is a cuvée characterised by the aromatic richness and freshness thanks to its Chardonnay component, balanced out by Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes, with pronounced aromas of flowers – rose and peony – small red fruits – wild strawberries and raspberry – and pink grapefruit.
“Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé 2012 is pure extravagance — delicate, yet also rich and voluptuous; intense and powerful, yet with great finesse,” said Perrier-Jouët’s cellar master Hervé Deschamps.
