Armit Wines appoints new MD
UK wine merchant Armit Wines has announced the appointment of Brett Fleming as its new managing director, effective from 11 November.
Originally from New Zealand, Fleming ha spent the last 30 years in the UK working with various wine businesses including BRL Hardy, Rathbone Wine Group and Classica International.
Fleming will be charged with some “ambitious plans” during his tenure, including driving Armit’s turnover to £30 million within five years according to the company.
Fleming said he wanted to turn Armit into the “envy of the trade”, adding: “We will be building on the work already done and recognising the values that underpinned Armit Wines from the beginning are all requirements, but also empowering the team to develop these ideals, a collective energy to engage the trade and show the spirit of all that Armit Wines has.”
Philippe Levau, acting CEO of Armit and managing director of InVivo, added: “We are delighted to welcome Brett Fleming as MD of Armit Wines. We have been making great inroads with getting Armit Wines back on track and in line with the group strategy and now it’s time to have a new MD on board to take this forward.”
The company has also appointed Caroline Brangé as its London sales manager. She joins from Flint Wines.
