Click here for Koshu and Caviar

Find out how flagship Japanese grape Koshu complements a range of foods from sushi to caviar by registering for a masterclass in London on 30 September.

Taking place at London’s Asia House at 3pm on Monday 30 September will be an event that promises to be the first of its kind.

Exploring the food-matching possibilities of Japan’s flagship Koshu grape, the masterclass will see a diverse range of wines made from the variety served alongside a broad array of foods.

Taking in delicate to more powerfully-flavoured Japanese foods, from raw-fish dishes to grilled teriyaki meats, along with western cuisine, including traditional British staple fish and chips, the event plans to introduce the UK wine trade to a host of new ideas to enthuse their consumers.

And, included in the food pairing masterclass will be the finest Caspian caviar, matched with the best Koshu from Japan.

Bearing in mind the Koshu grape is believed to have travelled to Japan from the Caucasus region, which borders the Caspian Sea, there may be a historical connection between this distinctly Japanese grape and Russia’s most famous luxury food – but how will they taste together?

Register here to find out, and discover the great wines of Japan.
