London Cocktail Week partners with Portobello Road on 10th birthday gin
The group that runs London Cocktail Week has teamed up with Notting Hill distillery Portobello Road to launch a limited edition gin marking the festival’s 10th birthday this year.
Just 1,000 bottles of The London Cocktail Week Gin will be available, which takes its inspiration from the London hospitality scene.
The gin uses a blend of 10 botanicals – one for each year of London Cocktail Week – such as coffee beans, hibiscus flower, juniper and Amalfi lemon.
LCW organiser DrinkUp.London recommends using the spirit, bottled at 42% ABV, in a chilled Martini, garnished with an Amalfi lemon twist.
Discussing the launch, founders of DrinkUp.London and London Cocktail Week Hannah Sharman-Cox and Siobhan Payne said the 2019 event is a “landmark” year for the group.
“We were involved in the launch of Portobello Road No. 171 gin, so we were thrilled to work with them again to create our own limited edition spirit that encompasses all of the elements that we love about the London cocktail and bar scene.”
The London Cocktail Week Gin will be available from September at thewhiskyexchange.com and The London Cocktail Week Hub throughout the festival, with an RRP of £40.
