Remy Cointreau’s chief executive to step down
Remy Cointreau’s chief executive, Valerie Chapoulaud-Floquet, will step down from the company at the end of the year.
Chapoulaud-Floquet, who was behind the company’s strategy of selling higher-priced spirits to boost profit margins, will stay until the end of the year, by which time a successor is expected to have been appointed.
The company said it was with regret that it announced her departure for personal reasons, expressing its “deep gratitude for her commitment and contribution to the quality of the Group’s results and successful strategy”.
Chapoulard-Floquet, who joined the company as managing director in 2014 before being appointed CEO in January 2015, said she was quitting the group with “great emotion”, but intended to pass the torch to her successor.
“I am serene, as the group’s results, foundations, teams and strategic vision allow it to envisage the future with optimism, ambition and success,” she said.
Prior to joining Remy Cointreau, Chapoulaud-Floquet spent seven years at the LVMH Group, where roles included CEO of Louis Vuitton Taiwan, President of Louis Vuitton South Europe, and President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America. She started her career at L’Oreal in France.
