Rare whiskey could sell for £10,000
A 140-year-old bottle of The Cassidy & Co Monasterevin whiskey will go under the hammer next week, with the winning bidder expected to pay as much as £10,000.

The bottle of The Cassidy & Co Monasterevin whiskey is one of two in the world, with the other bottle on display in the Irish Whiskey museum.
The whiskey was produced by Co Kildare’s Cassidy family, who owned a whiskey mill from 1784 until its closure in 1921.
With high-profile investors such as Bono believed to be assisting with funding, the mill and distillery is currently being restored by entrepreneur Paddy McKillen.

Other items at the auction will include a 20th century Irish copper whiskey cylinder with a capacity of around 300 litres.
The auction will take place on the 30 and 31 July at Victor Mee in Cavan, Ireland. Further information can be found here.
