Momo team to launch Mayfair diner
Mourad Mazouz, the restaurateur behind Sketch London and Momo, will open a diner-style Mediterranean restaurant in London’s Mayfair this month called Mo Diner.
A contemporary Mediterranean take on the classic American diner, Mo Diner will occupy the site next door to Momo formerly known as Mo Café.
Offering an all-day menu with Mediterranean versions of classic breakfast dishes, the menu is set to include hash browns with pomegranate and brown sauce; Berber pancakes with fig marmalade and almonds; Moroccan khlea with beef, eggs and green chermoula; and eggs Florentine with spinach, mulukhiyah and Aleppo Hollandaise.
Sharing and small plates will include lobster ‘rock ‘n’ roll’; Loulou’s chicken wings; merguez in a blanket; and grilled octopus with saffron aioli, spiced cauliflower, pomegranate and almonds while desserts will feature an Om Ali bread pudding and a hibiscus, rhubarb and basil cheesecake.
Inspired by American diners of the 1930s and designed by Willo Perron & Associates, the interiors will include a candy coloured terrace, purple diner booths, yellow Moroccan tiles,“a cacti filled conservatory” and a neon sign.
The walls will feature images by photographer Hugo Scott and the staircase a display by illustrator Yue Wu while staff uniforms have been designed by Sonia Taouhid.
Mo Diner will open this month.
