Great Queen Street restaurant to close

Founded by chef Tom Norrington-Davies in 2007, the restaurant will close this month following 12 years in London’s West End.

The chef, whose culinary history includes 7 years at innovative Farringdon-based gastro-pub The Eagle, launched Great Queen Street in 2007.

Part of the group that encompasses the Anchor and Hope in Waterloo, the Magdalen Arms in Oxford and the Canton Arms in Lambeth, Great Queen Street has been celebrated for serving pared down British food with Iberian influences.

Announcing the restaurant’s closure via tweet, the team said: “It is with heavy heart that we announce that Great Queen Street restaurant is coming to its end.

“We say goodbye after 12 fantastic years and thank everyone who came as a customer or worked with us. Our last service is to be lunch on July 12th.”

No reason has been given for its closure.
