Scarpetta Restaurants to launch debut London site

New York’s LDV Hospitality, which owns modern Italian concept Scarpetta Restaurants, will open its first international restaurant and cocktail lounge in Knightsbridge Green this June called Sette.

Founded in 2008 by John Meadow, boutique hospitality group LDV spans nine cities in the USA, with critically acclaimed flagship restaurant Scarpetta based in New York.

Located on the ground floor of Bvlgari Hotel London but operating independently, Sette will offer authentic Italian food from the heart of Manhattan.

In homage to the Italian tradition of ‘fare la scarpetta,’ meaning to indulge in a meal down to the last morsel, Scarpetta Restaurants ethos is centred around sourcing seasonal, local ingredients, and crafting freshly baked breads and homemade pasta, including the renowned Scarpetta classic of spaghetti with tomato and basil.

Serving lunch and dinner daily, as well as brunch on the weekends, the menu will feature Scarpetta classics alongside new dishes created specifically for Sette.  The Crudo selection will include yellow tail and tuna susci, while a verdure section will offer a selection of local seasonal vegetables.  Main courses will include halibut and veal tenderloin with gnocchi alla romana and glazed sweetbreads.

The wine list will offer a comprehensive choice of both classic and unusual Italian wines.

With interiors created by Thomas Juul-Hanson, who designed the group’s flagship restaurant Scarpetta in Manhattan’s NoMad neighbourhood, Sette’s interiors will juxtapose natural and industrial materials.

Post dinner, guests will have the opportunity to continue the evening in Sette’s ‘underground bar’ Nolita Social.  Inspired by La Dolce Vita and named after New York’s neighbourhood ‘North of Little Italy,’ Nolita Social will combine cocktails with live music and DJ’s playing 60’s rock, 70’s soul, and 90’s hip-hop.  Aperitifs and light bites will also be available earlier in the evening.
