Henri Jayer collection leads Bonhams sale
A collection of Henri Jayer wines will lead Bonhams’ opening London sale of 2019, alongside other top Burgundies and leading labels from Bordeaux, the US, Germany and Tokaj.
Taking place on Thursday 21 February, there is a strong collection of red and white Burgundy on offer, with a collection of 1990s-era Cros Parnatoux from Henri Jayer at its heart.
Highlights include a magnum of 1993 (£12,000 – £14,000), three bottles each of the 1995 and 1993 (£8,000 – £9,000 for the former, £6,000 – £7,000 for the latter) and a bottle of the 1990 (£7,000 – £8,000).
Elsewhere in the sale are gems such as various bottles of 1961, 1971 and 1982 Petrus; a 12-bottle case of 1961 Pichon Baron (£3,500-£4,000); five vintages of Screaming Eagle spanning 1999-2004; cases of 2010 Haut-Brion; collections of Kracher Trockenebeerenauslese spanning 10 vintages; a bottle of 1889 Tokaji Eszencia (£800 – £1,000) and a decanter of Taylor’s 1863 ‘Scion’ Very Old Tawny Port (£1,600 – £1,700).
A wide range of Brunello di Montalcino from “leading estates” will also be offered.
