Biodynamic production, Brazilian grapes and Instagram stories take centre stage at wine2wine
Biodynamic production, Brazilian wines and brand identity were all key topics of debate at this year’s wine2wine trade fair in Verona, Italy.
Margaret Henriquez, CEO of Krug Champagne gave the keynote speech at wine2wine 2018.
Organised by Veronafiere, Vinitaly, and Vinitaly International, wine2wine hosts hundreds of guest speakers from all corners of the wine trade to discuss key trends producers, buyers and marketers should bear in mind in the years to come.
This year, 118 members of the industry took to the podiums to share their views and insights from 26-27 November 2018. Topics ranged from biodiversity, biodynamic production and finding potential winegrowing regions in Brazil, to fine wines, finance, management, new markets, digital marketing, and new media.
“I’ve been using Instagram Stories for quite a while now and I was trying to understand if what I was doing was correct,” Mattia Scarbolo, director of sales and marketing at Italian wine label Scarbolo, said. After attending social media expert Francesco Mattucci’s seminar on Instagram engagement.
“I left the #w2wLab with all the answers I needed, and from a professional too!”
Carlo Franchetti, Vice President at Vini Franchetti, said: “wine2wine managed to put many wine topics and personalities under the same roof. Two days of debates and presentations during which operators in the sector got to know each other. Overall, the event gave us the chance to bring our knowledge up to speed, in both a useful and pleasant way.”
The seminars were live-streamed on wine2wine’s Facebook page. You can re-watch the action here.
