Inhalable alcoholic balloons to launch on IndieGoGo

A new start-up business hoping to revolutionise the way we drink alcohol, by inhaling it from a disposable balloon, is preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo.

Cloud Buzz is described as a “refreshing” way to enjoy shots of all spirits, served in specially designed balloons that are pressurised, and contain vaporised premixed spirits inside.

“When served, you simply inhale from the balloon and the alcohol will instantly vaporise into a misty cloud which, will give you an instant buzz while also making it an aromatic and pleasant experience to taste the actual flavour of the drink”, its website states.

If follows an experiment by food and drink technologists Bompas and Parr in 2015 whereby guests to its Alcoholic Architecture pop-up in Borough Market, London, were invited to inhale alcohol while standing in a mist-filled room.

Billed as the world’s first breathable cocktail bar, the immersive experience saw spirits and mixers turned into a cloud of alcohol with the help of humidifiers creating an environment of 140% humidity.

Visitors were asked to don protective suits and breath in the cocktail vapour, with the alcohol entering the bloodstream through the lungs and eyeballs rather than the liver.

Introducing this new alcoholic vapour invention, Cloud Buzz partner, Davis Cima, said: “The inhalation of the mist from this cloud buzz balloon actually enhances the taste of your favourite spirit. If could be your favourite night club, bar, it could be on a beach, or even your birthday party. I am lucky to be part of this energetic and enthusiastic team who believe in what we have.”

Cloud Buzz, whose headquarters are listed as being in Latvia, will launch its IndieGoGo campaign on 23rd November.

    Irresponsible

Saw these guys catching everyone’s attention at Imbibe expo in London this summer. It was impossible to miss them!
After talking with them definitely can tell how much involved, passionate and enthusiastic they are about this project!
I tried it and it is amazing how good the alcohol actually tastes vaporized!
Definitely would suggest everyone to at least give it a try!

This is just the sort of stupid idea that is a gift to the anti-alcohol lobby. These products should be banned from sale in the UK. The idea of ‘inhaling’ alcohol rather than enjoying a drink that just happens to have alcohol in it are entirely different. This is putting alcohol on the same level as drugs.

Very intriguing, looking forward to trying some myself.

for gods sake no, does the alcohol trade not have a bad enough name already

Latvia historically has a drinking problem that surpasses Scotland so no surprise their HQ is listed there. However the same effect can be obtained by supping a Brandy through a straw which has the end half in & half out of the surface of the liquid thus getting the perfect air to fuel ratio to get alcohol;into the lungs for an instant hit. (not that I am advocating this, because evidently drinking straws are killing our marine life).

has anyone studied the negative effects of this on a human’s lungs?? This is the stupidest idea I’ve seen a long time!
