Diageo launches Baileys-flavoured baking products
The north American division of Diageo has teamed up with US baking powder manufacturer Clabber Girl Corporation to unveil a range of baking products flavoured with the Irish cream liqueur, starting with Baileys Baking Chips.
The non-alcoholic baking chips are made from “semi-sweet chocolate” and are available to order online through Amazon.
Billed as “perfect for your holiday baking or as an on-the-go snack”, the chips are flavoured with the original Irish cream liqueur, which combines Irish dairy cream, Irish whiskey, cocoa and vanilla.
The chocolate is the first product in the range that has been unveiled, with more releases expected in due course. It has been released alongside a free digital cookbook, featuring 23 recipes incorporating the chocolate chips.
The product will be available in a few select US retailers for this year’s festive season, before being launched nationally in time for Easter 2019.
Gary Morris, president and COO at Clabber Girl Corporation, said: “Clabber Girl has been a trusted partner and friend to bakers and home cooks for more than 150 years.
“We are thrilled to entrust our relationships with these valued customers with Baileys and are extremely proud of what we together have created.”
Owned by Diageo, Baileys was launched in Ireland in 1974 and is now available in 180 markets worldwide. Its portfolio includes the Original Irish Cream, Salted Caramel, Vanilla Cinnamon, Chocolate Cherry, Coffee, Chocolate Luxe, Orange Truffle, Iced Latte, Iced Mocha and new dairy-free variant Baileys Almande.
