Owned by actor and producer, Ryan Reynolds, Aviation American Gin will be served in Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses and on board at 35,000 feet, as the brand’s exclusive airline partner.

Reynolds bought the gin brand earlier this year, purchasing an “ownership interest” in the US gin, based out of Portland in Oregon, from its co-owner Davos Brands, which previously bought the brand from Oregon-based House Spirits Distillery in 2016 for an undisclosed sum.

Speaking about the partnership with Virgin, Reynolds said: “I’ve been a huge fan of Sir Richard Branson and Virgin for years. For Aviation to be chosen as the gin of choice for such an iconic and quintessentially British brand is a complete honor. We look forward to serving Virgin Atlantic guests for years to come and, on a personal note, Sir Richard has promised to teach me the difference between revenue and profit, so I am beyond excited.”

To celebrate the partnership, a selection of lucky passengers on board Virgin Atlantic flights on the 30th September will get a special mixology experience hosted by bartenders from some of the world’s best bars, including The Dead Rabbit in New York to Smugglers Cove in San Francisco.

Virgin Atlantic and Aviation Gin will also be bringing their partnership to this year’s London Cocktail Week. From October 3–7, Virgin Atlantic will host activations at the Old Truman Brewery. Guests can stop by for exclusive Aviation Gin cocktails from some of the world’s best bars, including Employees Only’s First Blush or Black Tail’s Terminal A.

Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group Founder, added: “I’m delighted Virgin Atlantic is working with Ryan and his team on this partnership. Aviation Gin was born out of a spirit of innovation, so serving it on board Virgin Atlantic flights seemed like the perfect combination.”

As part of the partnership, Sir Richard Branson and Ryan Reynolds will appear in co-branded digital content this winter.
