The New Zealand wine brand will be the team’s official wine supplier until the end of the final race in 2021 in a collaboration “rooted in their shared values”. In 2021 Emirates Team New Zealand will defend their title as America’s Cup holders.
“As a brand who looks to do things differently and embraces forward thinking, we see a strong link between ourselves and Emirates Team New Zealand,” said Brancott Estate’s chief winemaker, Patrick Materman.

“Brancott Estate cultivated a region considered too cold for grapes, planting Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes in Marlborough and establishing a wine region that is recognised across the globe.
“Its history of ingenuity, innovation and sustainability has seen us grow to be one of New Zealand’s leading wine brands,” he added.
Emirates Team New Zealand had its beginnings in the New Zealand Challenge team, which contested the 1987 America’s Cup event in Western Australia.
In an event dominated by technology and money, New Zealand punches above its weight and has sailed to victory three times, in 1995, 2000 and 2017.
“Emirates Team New Zealand are delighted to have Brancott Estate as exclusive supplier to the team for our latest America’s Cup campaign,” said Emirates Team New Zealand COO, Kevin Shoebridge.
“We will be welcoming guests from around the world to New Zealand in 2021 and Brancott Estate will be alongside us rolling out the welcome mat, putting on world renowned kiwi hospitality and sharing the finest taste of New Zealand with them all as we utilise their support and strive to defend the America’s Cup,” he added.
Brancott Estate will be looking for ways to enable fans to celebrate New Zealand’s champion team and the milestones throughout the journey via its product range in the on- and off-trade all over the world, with a focus on the final challenge events in Auckland in 2021.
The America’s Cup is the oldest international sporting trophy. The cup was first awarded in 1851 by the Royal Yacht Squadron for a race around the Isle of Wight, which was won by the schooner America.
Based in Auckland, Emirates Team New Zealand represents the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
