The 14 most expensive cities in the world to buy a pint of beer in 2018

Last week, we rounded-up the cheapest cities in the world where you can buy a pint of beer, according to the latest comparable figures from pubs and bars across the globe.

But while it’s useful to know where your money will stretch furthest, if you have already booked your summer holiday and it wasn’t to anywhere on last week’s list, it’s still important to know the exchange rates you’re up against.

In the UK, it is not uncommon to pay around £4 for a pint of beer, according to price comparison site Money Guru, which has published a new study analysing the cost of a pint in more than 30 cities worldwide to determine where your money will stretch furthest this year.

The study, which compared the average cost of a UK pint measure (568ml) in bars and pubs across 32 destinations at the end of April 2018, also looked at the amount you can buy for £4, throwing up some unexpected results at both ends of the price scale.

While Dubai and Singapore are hardly known for their cut-price alcohol, the average cost of a pint in London is even pricier than the website’s proposed average cost of a UK pint .

Keep scrolling to see the cities whose beer prices will make your eyes water.

Someone should add centre parcs to the list as they charge £4.50 for a carling!

  2. Brendan says:

Good luck with finding a pint for 5 pounds in Dublin. More like 8 or 9.
