Santa Rita confirms second year at Cumbria Horse Trials

Chilean wine brand Santa Rita has confirmed that it is to continue in its its sponsorship of the Cumbria Horse Trials Series for a second year.

The seven event series runs from April through to September and is affiliated to and run under British Eventing Rules. Horse trials, or eventing as the sport is known, is seen as the ultimate test for horse and rider. Three phases make up a competition run over one day, which includes dressage, show- jumping and cross country.

Santa Rita’s sponsorship will see its Santa Rita 120 wine brand given as prizes to the top-placed competitors in the BE100 sections at each of the events, with Frenchfield, the first event of the season, due to run next weekend.

“As one of the leading Chilean wines in the UK, it is important for Santa Rita to maintain brand awareness and continue to connect with it’s target audience,” said export director for Santa Rita Estates, Europe, Terry Pennington.

“The Cumbria Horse Trials events through our sponsorship of the BE100 classes provides a fun and successful medium in which to communicate directly with our customers. Here’s to a successful season – all we need now is some sunshine to ‘Live la Vida 120!”

Branding on cross country fences and a Santa Rita BE100 leader board, with a case of wine for the most successful horse and rider at the end of the season, will complete the sponsorship.

“This was a hugely popular sponsorship last year and we are delighted to be working once again with Santa Rita 120 for the forthcoming 2018 eventing season,” said Cumbria Horse Trials event directors, Douglas and Lucinda Weymouth. “A bottle of wine as a prize puts a smile on people’s faces and is certainly welcome after a hard day competing for both the riders and owners, it’s a superb way to reward their efforts.”
