Guillaume Deglise to leave Vinexpo
The chief executive of Vinexpo, Guillaume Deglise, is to step down from the role after this year’s exhibition in Hong Kong it has been announced.
The French trade show organiser announced that Deglise would leave the role to “embrace new career projects” following the Hong Kong edition of Vinexpo which is taking place from 29-31 May this year.
Deglise has been at the helm of what is one the leading global wine trade events since 2013 and in that time he has overseen the growth of the flagship show in Bordeaux, the “strong development” of the Hong Kong show as well as launching new shows in Tokyo (2014), New York (2018) and the show in Paris scheduled for 2020.
Patrick Seguin, president of Vinexpo’s executive board and chairman of the Bordeaux-Gironde Chamber of Commerce, said: “We salute Guillaume Deglise’s guidance and professionalism. He managed to develop the brand Vinexpo in a highly competitive sector.
“We wish him success in his future endeavours.”
Deglise himself added: “Having the chance to be in daily contact with winemakers, traders and buyers has been a very rewarding experience for me. I want to thank Vinexpo’s customers and partners for their confidence and support, and the Team Vinexpo that I am honoured to lead.”
