The Flying Winemaker celebrates 10 years of Eddie McDougall Wines
Eddie McDougall, aka The Flying Winemaker, is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his eponymous wine collection.
Having started releasing wines under his own brand, Eddie McDougall Wines, in 2008, this year also marks the 19th year since McDougall started making wines commercially, according to the dynamic winemaker.
“The celebration marks my 10th vintage under my own brand and 19th harvest since I started to make wine commercially. The journey to this point has been challenging but a wonderful learning experience,” McDougall told dbHK.
“My commitment to making great wine will continue over a lifetime and this milestone only marks the first decade of achievements which in the wine world is very small. It is the decade ahead where I will mature and scale to something of significance and spread these delicious wines into new markets globally,” he added.
Making wines from a wide range of varieties, the winemaker released a few ranges including ‘Umami’, ‘Urban Project’ and his ‘King Valley’ collection from Australia, highlighting the Italian grapes such as Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese.
In addition, he also collaborated with Julian Langworthy of Deep Woods Estate to make a ‘McDougall & Langworthy Rosé’.
The winermaker has recently signed a deal with The Wine People to distribute his Eddie McDougall Wines in mainland China’s Guangdong province.
