Police seek ‘beer-covered man’

Police in Scotland are reportedly looking for a man who managed to soak himself in beer during a break-in at a pub.

As reported by the BBC, police in Edinburgh are after a man who broke into the Mid Yoken Bar (pictured) around 5am last Saturday in the Craigmount Brae housing estate.

The man, described as of medium build and wearing a mask, was seen breaking into the pub and then leaving the scene on a silver mountain bike.

Nothing was stolen during the break-in but it is thought he knocked open a beer tap during the raid and was likely covered in beer as a result.

PC Richard Boyle of Police Scotland said in a statement: “While it appears nothing was stolen, the pub has lost some stock, due to the beer tap being knocked open.

“As a result of this, we believe the suspect has been doused in beer and so anyone who recognises the description of this male, or who saw someone covered in beer in the East Craigs area during the early hours of Saturday morning should come forward.”

I am not sure that will be much of a lead! I am sure there are quite a lot of beer covered men around after closing time and anyway he has probably wrung his clothes out, drunk what he could get out of them and then popped the clothes in the washing machine!
