Rhône Valley’s Marrenon relaunches in the UK

After a seven-year absence, Marrenon, one of the largest producers in Luberon and Ventoux in the Rhône Valley, is re-launching its portfolio into the UK.

Marrenon’s Gardarem range is targeted at the UK on-trade

Marrenon is introducing two distinctive lines into the market, Marrenon and Amédée, each targeted at the on- and off-trade channels respectively.

The flagship wines of the Marrenon range are Gardarem, Grand Marrenon, Orca and Petula, while in the Amédée range they include Chemin des Ocres, Les Hautes Sentes and Lila Rose.

“Marrenon has secured the enviable position of being the leading producer of Luberon and Ventoux wines in Europe,” explains Robert Oustric export director.

“The UK represents a vast opportunity for us and we have big ambitions for the market. We are currently working on educating professionals about our wines and building strong relationships with partners in both the on- and off-trade.”

Marrenon produces 15 million bottles of wine per year, with 55% in AOC Luberon and 15% in AOC Ventoux including red, white, rosé and sparkling.

Founded by Amédée Giniès in 1965, Marrenon regroups seven wineries and 650 winegrowers located 30 kilometres north of Aix-en-Provence, and today comprises 4,200 hectares of vineyards located in the Regional Natural Reserve in Luberon – a UNESCO Biopshere Reserve.

The region is known for its production of both Syrah and Grenache, but also Vermentino, of which Marrenon is France’s largest producer.
