Ocado to offer Lanson organic Champagne
Lanson’s organic ‘Green Label’ Champagne is now available in the UK via online supermarket ocado.com.
To reflect the grape’s organic status, the Lanson Maltese Cross logo has been coloured green, while the labels are made from recycled paper
The Champagne, which was launched at the start of this year, uses organically-grown grapes from an 8-hectare plot at Verneuil, in the heart of the Marne valley.
Based on the 2012 vintage, a first-rate harvest in Champagne, the organic Champagne is made in the Lanson style, which means that the base wine has not undergone malolactic fermentation.
To reflect the grape’s organic status, the Lanson Maltese Cross logo has been coloured green, as opposed to its heritage red, while the labels are made from recycled paper.
Lanson’s Green Label gained a Silver medal in The Organic Masters and has recently been named the official Champagne of The Drinks Business Green Awards – meaning that the fizz will be served to attendees at the awards ceremony at The Ivy Club in London on Monday 20 November.
If you would like to attend the awards ceremony, please contact Sheila Crisp at sheila.crisp@unionpress.co.uk
