The City Wine Show in pictures

The inaugural City Wine Show took place this year on 22 and 23 September at the stunning Stationers’ Hall near St Paul’s Cathedral. In true db fashion, there were masterclasses aplenty – below is picture of db‘s editor-in-chief Patrick Schmitt MW and Arthur de Lencquesaing from iDealwine in full flow.

Who wants some wine?

The City Wine Show also marked the official launch of Wine List Confidential, a wine list rating site and publication.

db‘s Andrew Oliver (above) manned the fort with aplomb while visitors planned their next wine holiday (below.)

Representatives from iDealwine and the Consejo Regulador de la D.O. Ribera del Duero were hard at work.

Who won the posing competition?

The cheese platters proved very popular and so too did the wine decanted at Babylonstoren’s stand.

Visitors particularly enjoyed the ‘discovery zone’ manned by db staff with a huge selection of award-winning wines on pour.

The discovery zone featured a selection of wines from around the world.

Our exhibitors’ wines were in demand.

Attendees found wine and biltong to be a particularly good combination.

Guests also had the chance to vote for their favourite product in the New Product Zone, ably assisted by db‘s Sophie Allan.

When they weren’t quaffing wine, visitors could pick up a free G&T on arrival.

And it wasn’t just wine and gin – award-winning beers recently judged at The Drinks Business Global Beer Masters were also showcased.

Casa Silva brought a huge selection of its wines for guests to sample as well as those on pour in the discovery zone.
