Square Mile bar manager jailed for using drinks menu to sell cocaine

A former manager of a wine bar in London’s financial district has been jailed after selling cocaine to customers who ordered a specific cocktail from the drinks menu.

The manager used Dion’s drinks menu to supply customers with the class A drug.

Justyna Gorska, 34, would bring her customers a menu, which they would place their money inside it before ordering using the “code” drink. Gorska would then take the menu away, before returning with £50 wraps of coke as she served them drinks.

Gorska, who lives in Vauxhall, London, used the menu tactic on at least six separate occasions between June and August 2017 while working as an assistant manager at Dion in St Paul’s.

When arrested, Gorska was found with a single wrap in her bra, which she handed over to police voluntarily.

The manager admitted to supplying cocaine, and was jailed for 28 months at the Old Bailey on Thursday.

Joe Chalker, owner of Dion in St Paul’s, said: “We have a zero tolerance drugs policy and have co-operated fully with the police during their investigation.

“We continue to work closely with the City of London Police licensing team on all licensing matters.”

Detective Constable Brendan Kennedy from the City of London Police, told Metro.co.uk: ‘We know the vast majority of licensed premises within the Square Mile are owned and operated by fully law-abiding staff and management who have close relationships with our City of London Police licensing team.
