London Sherry Trail map launched

A map charting the 47 best places in London to drink Sherry has been created in time for International Sherry Week, which runs from 6-12 November.

Showing how strong London’s love is for the fortified wine, made in sun-drenched Jerez in southern Spain, the map was put together by the Sherry Institute.

It features everywhere from Bar Pepito in King’s Cross, the capital’s first dedicated Sherry bar opened by restaurateur Richard Bigg in 2010, and Drakes Tabanco in Fitzrovia where you can enjoy Fernando de Castilla Sherries straight from the barrel, to newcomer Sack in East London, which is attached to London’s only one-room hotel – The Napoleon.

It also features popular Spanish chains like Barrafina, Camino, Brindisa and Iberica, along with institutions like Gordon’s Wine Bar, Opera Tavern and José.

Sherry lovers can grab copies of the credit card-sized guide at any of the 47 venues that feature on the map and it is also available at an A4-sized download here.

The Sherry Institute is encouraging Sherry nuts to share their experiences at the bars and restaurants on social media using the #SherryLondon hashtag.
