The platform has been created by Hennessy UK to “blend together unexpected artists from different genres and backgrounds” and will see a panel of music industry experts, headed up by Island Records’ Alex Boateng, music journalist Hattie Collins, music influencer Ralph Hardy and Abbey Road Studios’ Christian Wright, bring together artists to record rare ‘live-to-vinyl’ tracks at Abbey Road’s new Gatehouse and Front Room Studios.

The first artists to be brought to the table by Masters of Potential panel member Alex Boateng are Mancunian soul singer JP Cooper and musical poet, Kojey Radical.

“From our first visit to the magical studios right through to recording the JP Cooper live-to-vinyl the partnership with Abbey Road Studios and Hennessy just felt so natural, obvious almost,” Julie Nollet, marketing and communications director, Moët Hennessy UK.

“Two brands engrained in musical history and culture coming together in support of unleashing such raw musical potential just felt very powerful and in line with Hennessy. Masters of Potential was the result of this approach and it is an honour to see this longstanding collaboration come to life and celebrate the launch of the two new studios at Abbey Road.”

JP Cooper and Kojey Radical recorded “Party” and “She’s On My Mind” 17th August 2017 at Abbey Road Studios as the first artists to be partnered with Hennessy Very Special – Masters of Potential.

“Our new studios are a platform for the next generation of creativity and innovation at Abbey Road, and our partnership with Hennessy is designed to launch a new era of unforgettable moments and unique collaborations at the studios,” said Abbey Road Studios Head of Partnerships & Events, Jeremy Huffelmann.

“The two brands not only share a mutual heritage of excellence, coupled with generations of refined craftsmanship, but also a spirit for the bold and the new which promises to deliver some incredible performances in the years to come.”
