World Bulk Wine Exhibition gears up for 9th edition
The 9th edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition will take place this November in Amsterdam and will feature its annual bulk wine competition and a new area dedicated to masterclasses on ensuring and improving the quality of wine shipped in bulk.
Taking place from 20-21 November, the WBWE will bring together the majority of the global wine industry’s leading bulk wine providers and shippers.
The show will feature a new area dedicated to masterclasses on various technical issues regarding bulk wine with a full programme covering subjects such as blending, branded bottling for supermarkets and market-specific bottling requirements and how to correct, enhance, adjust and improve a wine.
The WBWE said the programme was designed to ensure that, “each attendee will be able to cross-check their work method, assess how to improve it, fill gaps or shortages, improve their skills, and to know which are the marketing prospects of your wines and how to meet them.”
Just before the fair begins, on 19 November, the WBWE will also announce the winners of the International Bulk Wine Competition (IBWC), the only competition dedicated to bulk wines and rewarding those improving the quality of wines in this enormous sector.
The competition is open to all those that produce a minimum of 10,000 litres of wine, and samples can be sent in up to 16 November. Previous winners of the competition include: Vinicola San Nazaro from Reggio Emilia (Italy), the Cooperative Jesús del Perdón (Spain), Viñedos Puertas (Chile), Cantine Vincenzo Solferino (Italy) and Mamerto de la Vara (Spain).
