IBWSS announces conference schedule and speakers

The International Bulk Wine and Spirits Show (IBWSS) has revealed its conference schedule and list of high profile speakers for its event in London next year.

IBWSS London, due to take place at the Royal Horticultural Halls on 26-27 February 2018, is set “to give participants both a high-level macro view of key trends and strategies, as well a provide some very granular advice on day-to-day tactics to succeed in the marketplace”.

The organiser of the show, the Beverage Trade Network, has announced the following speakers:

  • Neil Anderson – managing director, Kingsland Drinks
  • Paul Braydon – buying bontroller, Kingsland Drinks
  • Andrew Catchpole – editor, Harpers Wine & Spirit Magazine
  • Florian Ceschi – director, Ciatti Europe
  • Robin Copestick – managing director, Copestick Murray
  • Barry Dick, MW – The Wine Superhero
  • Clive Donaldson – wine sourcing manager, Wm Morrison Supermarkets
  • Mark Lansley – CEO, Broadland Wineries
  • David Richardson – regulatory and commercial affairs director, WSTA
  • Mark Roberts – head of sales, Lancaster Wines
  • Andrew Shaw – group wine buying director, Conviviality PLC
  • Richard Siddle, award-winning business editor
  • Clem Yates, MW – sourcing and supply director, Off-Piste Wines

As well as highlighting the broad trends in the bulk wine market, the speakers will also “drill down on specialised topics”. Topics include an examination of the key findings of the bulk wine report by Florian Cesch and advice on the best way to import bulk wines from overseas from Barry Dick MW.

Two panel discussions will also run during the event. On 26 February Andrew Catchpole will lead a discussion on how retailers can build a profitable label programme, while on 27 February, Richard Siddle will moderate discussion on the bulk wine and private label industry featuring industry insiders Robin Copestick, Mark Roberts and Denys Hornabrook.
